The Mumbai police on Thursday arrested 32-year-old Aarti Shetty, who in an allegedly inebriated condition, knocked down an auto with her BMW on the eastern expressway early on Thursday morning. A woman was severely injured and three other family members sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Police said that Ms. Shetty was driving fast on the Sion-Panvel road when her vehicle (MH 04 ET 6666) hit the auto near Vashi check naka around 4.30 a.m. She was under the influence of alcohol, they said, adding that she had herself sustained injuries on her neck.
