HYDERABAD: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died after a speeding water tanker hit her at Chitrapuri colony, Raidurgam on Thursday.
Cyberabad police said the girl, Swathi, was playing on the road when the accident took place. It was around 6 pm on Thursday the speeding water tanker hit the girl in front of the labour camp at Chitrapuri colony. Driver of the tanker fled from the spot immediately.
In an another incident, a school student died after he was hit by a car in front of Jaya Garden, while he was going on a two-wheeler on Thursday morning.
Punjagutta police said Shiva Singh,13, was a resident of Somajiguda and the accident happened while he was on his way to a eatery. The death was instant for Shiva.
Meanwhile, some persons made a vain bid to loot two ATMs in Ramanthapur using a screw driver on Thursday. Police said that miscreants were caught on the CCTV footage, while trying to open them using screw driver. However, the cash in the ATMs was found intact.
