Five of a family killed as car catches fire after accident with tractor in Faridabad


Faridabad: A family of five was killed in Faridadad near Delhi today when their car caught fire after a collision with a tractor. The incident occurred on National Highway 2 in the Palwal district of Haryana.

According to the police, Ashok Aggarwal, his wife Manju, son Amit, daughter-in-law Seema and grandson Shobhit, who was 11, were on their way back from Vrindavan when their car, a Santro, rammed into a tractor from behind. Preliminary investigation reveals the tractor may have slammed the brakes suddenly, and the car ran into it from behind, leading to a CNG leak, and an immediate blaze.

The fire brigade was called but by the time they reached, all five were burnt alive inside the car, according to the police.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, said the police.
